The focus of this strategic visioning exercise is on scientific direction of the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute’s research program over the coming decade. As research administrators, its good for us to be aware of these opportunities so that we are can demonstrate active awareness and interest in the research efforts of our investigators. Also, it provides an opportunity for us to encourage young investigators, post docs and fellows to participate in these endeavors to shape the future of the NIH research program that many of them will be somewhat reliant on as their careers progress.
